I had to do it. Simple as.
They don't understand. They say they do, but they don't. But I am finally getting what I have wanted for a thousand years, so I ignore their pain in favor of my own selfish needs.
It leads to betrayal after betrayal, the worst being from the one man that I thought I could trust not to destroy me.
Unfortunately, my own unwitting betrayal leaves my men shattered. There is no way out of this one for me. Not this time.
